Love this scene! I have it on audio cassette, can you believe it. Have you heard his tandoori restaurant waiter? 'Hmm, let me help you up. It's a tricky bit of floor that: deceptively flat and unimpeded.' Speaks volumes to me after my beer and curry days.
that's so funny, that is my favorite line from that sketch, and the only one that i can remember with perfect clarity to this day, word for word.
though if i'm honest, that's prolly cuz i kinda stole it, and passed it off as my own, over the years ;)
got me lots of laughs, though! back then, nobody in canada knew who rowan atkinson was...
my own copy of 'rowan atkinson live' is a dub, my dad recorded it off the tv onto a blank vhs tape, about oh, say, twenty years ago. i watched it so many times growing up (and of course, i nicked it when i left home) that there's barely any audio left on it. you have to crank the volume all the way up and then actually sit on top of the telly if you wanna hear any of it. i was searching through my fifth box of dad's old vcr tapes the other day, on the off chance that it had somehow made it back into his possession, when it suddenly occurred to me: "i suppose it could be on the youtube."
and there it was! with sound and everything! i love the youtube.
